Question
What is a substitute product for ATS Pneumatic Timers?
Answer
1.It depends on ATS model. Refer to the following table.
Operating mode | ON-delay | OFF-delay
Operating method | Over-voltage time-limit operation | Non-voltage time-limit operation
Reset method | Self-reset | Electric reset
Contacts | Time-limit | SPST-NO/SPST-NC
Instantaneous | --- | SPST-NO | SPST-NO/ SPST-NC | --- | SPST-NO | SPST-NO/ SPST-NC
Power supply | AC | DC | AC | AC | DC | AC
Model | ATS | ATS-10 | ATS-11 | ATS | ATS-10 | ATS-11
ON-delay operation | OFF-delay operation
(1) H3CR-A8 + P2CF-8 | (2) H3CR-A8E + P2CF-8 | (3) H3CR-H8L + P2CF-8 | (4) H3CR-H8L + P2CF-8 + External Relay |
Note:
1.The ON-delay and OFF-delay operation of ATS could be specified by the orientation of the magnet section. Therefore there is no difference between the models with regards to the operating mode. When the moving part of the magnet section was at the bottom, it specified ON-delay operation, and when it was at the top, it specified OFF-delay operation.
2.he bottom row gives recommended substitute products or models with substitute functions. For details, refer to the following information.
2.There is no substitute product in column (1) because ATS utilizes the flow characteristics of air, which significantly differs in principle and construction with the current mainstream digital timers.
However, a substitute function can be created by using H3CR-A8 Solid-state Timer with P2CF-8 Surface Mounting Sockets.
3.There is no substitute product in column (2).
However, a substitute function can be created by using H3CR-A8E with instantaneous contacts with P2CF-8.
4.There is no substitute product in column (3).
However, a substitute function can be created by using H3CR-H8L OFF-delay Timers with P2CF-8.
5.There is no substitute product in column (4).
However, a substitute function can be created by using H3CR-H8L with P2CF-8, and creating an instantaneous contact with an external relay.
6.General Comparison of ATS and H3CR-A/H
Compared item | ATS | H3CR-A8(E), -H8L | Remarks |
Operating principle | Mechanical principle using the flow of air | Digital
Mounting method | Surface mounting only Mounting direction limited | Surface mounting and flush mounting No linit to mounting direction
External connections | Top screw terminal | 8-pin socket
Supply voltage | 100 VAC, 50 Hz/100/110 VAC, 60 Hz 110 VAC, 50/60 Hz 200 VAC, 50 Hz/200/220 VAC, 60 Hz 220 VAC, 50/60 Hz 440 VAC, 50/60 Hz 24, 48, 100, 110 VDC only | H3CR-A8(E): 100 to 240 VAC/100 to 125 VDC 24 to 48 VAC/12 to 48 VDC H3CR-H8L: 100/110/120 VAC 200/220/240 VAC 24 VAC/VDC, 48 VDC, 100 to 125 VDC only | See note 1. |
Set time range | 0.2 s to 200 s | H3CR-A8(E): 0.05 s to 300 h H3CR-H8L: S Series: 0.05 s to 12 s M Series: 0.05 min. to 12 min. | See note 2. |
Contact output electrical life expectancy | 1,000,000 operations min. (6 A at 250 VAC, resistive load) | 100,000 operations min. (5 A at 250 VAC, resistive load) | See note 3. |
Note:
1.There are no H3CR-A8, -H8 models that operate at 440 VAC. The voltage must be stepped down.
2.If using the M-series H3CR-H8L, secure at least a 2-s power ON time. Do not use the H3CR-H8L Timer with a repeat period of less than 3 s.
3.The electrical durability of the time-limit and instantaneous contacts drop when large loads are used. Install an external replay as required.
