Provides Long-distance Detection of Aluminum

Case Number 265

last update: November 6, 2009

This application uses a Pulse-response Proximity Sensor with a Built-in Amplifier.
This Pulse-response Proximity Sensor with a Built-in Amplifier enables a long distance detection for aluminum workpieces.

Know-How

Conventional proximity sensors did not provide stable detection because of differences in workpiece materials. The detection distance of aluminum was 1/3 that of iron.

Benefit / Efficiency

Using a new pulse response method ensures up to twice the sensing distance as the conventional sensors. This represents a real innovation in the history of proximity sensors.
