cascade control

Definition

The appropriate product category
A control method that combined two PID controls in series to build one feedback loop. The output signal from the master PID, which measures the controlled object, is used as the set point for the slave PID. The slave PID measures the controlled object with a small delay to output an operation value. The slave PID control can be performed while an indirect specification cuts the delay element to control the controlled object. Cascade control is used to control objects with extremely large delays or dead time between outputting operation values and measuring the controlled object.
